Job Summary

Will be on a global tax team for a $20 billion company headquartered in Los Angeles that does business in over 150 countries and has team members in Canada, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Reporting to the Director of Tax Planning, will support critical functions including tax research, writing, planning, acquisition and disposition structuring and special projects. Will play a critical project management role for the Tax Department with acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and internal restructurings along with supporting positions taken on federal income tax returns. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing support and assistance in the identification, evaluation, development, and execution of strategies to manage global income taxes.

  • Performing tax research for tax planning projects.

  • Building financial models for the tax consequences of planning ideas and new business initiatives.

  • Reviewing JV agreements.

  • Managing complex partnership structuring and legal entities.

  • Assisting in resolving issues identified in federal tax audits.

  • Working as part of cross-functional teams (including Treasury, Legal, Accounting and business unit and geographic staff) to implement value-added planning initiatives.

  • Managing outside consultants assisting on planning projects.

  • Keeping abreast of and providing analysis of tax law developments.

  • Supporting compliance and provision through documenting positions taken, planning ideas implemented and significant changes in structure and laws.

Minimum Requirements

This position requires a team player who is highly organized, responsive and can work on multiple projects simultaneously while producing accurate and timely results. Experience and skills required include:

  • Five to seven years’ experience in Big Four public accounting and/or large public company tax departments.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Strong tax technical skills in Subchapters C and K.

  • High level of expertise with Microsoft Excel.

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work with all levels in a global organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or Master’s in Tax.

  • Working knowledge of OneSource and/or CorpTax.
