Job Summary

Will be responsible for the support and development of AECOM BI applications (primarily AECOM Insight) and coordinating with business stakeholders and 3 rd party resources. Will serve as a key liaison to business user communities and be responsible for the successful execution of data processing and integration among enterprise and BI systems through:

  • Serving as AECOM’s technology lead and key contact for business users across enterprise BI applications

  • Ensuring the successful execution of data processing and interfaces between AECOM Insight and other source systems

  • Overseeing end-user support and participating in development efforts.

  • Managing internal and 3 rd party resources to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and on-time.

  • Escalating issues and measuring against SLAs.

  • Overseeing and monitoring team workflows, task assignments and tracking of projects and commitments as well as the maintenance/archiving of all associated supplemental support materials, presentations and documentation.

  • Overseeing the design, development, testing, implementation and support of internal software and database applications and coordinating across the enterprise.

  • Guiding the business in formulating requirements and priorities and establishing and overseeing the implementation of appropriate business logic.

  • Identifying and evaluating the impact of proposed or requested major changes to existing application systems, modifying them for cross-enterprise commonality and efficiency and preparing them for assignment and execution after establishing appropriate priorities in conjunction with business management.

  • Communicating outages and other key messages to the user community.

  • Analyzing business requirements and functional change requests including identifying omissions and errors in requirements, recommending optimum approach and developing systems and/or applications design for approved projects.

  • Coordinating appropriate user training and development including associated supplemental materials, presentations and documentation

  • Keeping current with the latest versions of applications development software, techniques and practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Business, Management Information Systems or IT related field.

  • Five or more years direct experience in Data, RDMBS and ETL development including support and operations of data transformations, transport and security.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong database and SQL skills with knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in information technology design and development.

  • Experience with enterprise level data analysis and integration and/or providing data focused systems integration solutions.

  • Expert level technical knowledge in data architecture and integration.

  • Strong experience in system development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) with the ability to bridge different methodologies.

  • Strong application development and change management knowledge.

  • Ability to estimate time and resource requirements and develop estimated timelines.

  • Highly analytical and self-motivated with the proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional matrix environment.

  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical individuals.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies as they become prevalent and widely implemented including decision making, time management and task prioritization.

  • Demonstrated effective problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Advanced degree.

Specialized training and/or certifications in BI.
