Job Summary

AECOM is a fast-paced global company with the mission to build a better world. We are seeking a Internal Communications Specialist who thrives in a complex cutting-edge business environment. This role will focus on supporting and improving strategic internal communications in Americas Design and Consulting Services (DCS), AECOM’s largest operating group. The DCS Americas internal communications team works to engage employees, support leaders and help the business succeed.


  • Draft compelling, targeted content across multiple regions and business lines on message and on time

  • Facilitate and run virtual and onsite town halls and meetings

  • Increase employee participation in internal social media and interaction in virtual town halls

  • Conduct interviews, research leads and creatively source content

  • Maintain and develop internal websites, monitor metrics and continuously improve user experience

  • Help create a culture of collaboration and engagement

  • Make recommendations for improvements based on insights, best practices and business objectives

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher learning program

  • 3+ years progressive experience in internal communications

  • Experience working in a complex organization

  • Expert writer, editor and communicator

  • Ability to work with senior executives from across an organization

  • Highly proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint: experience with Creative Suite and WebEx

  • Based in Los Angeles or New York

  • A confident and creative world-class communicator

  • A professional who inspires confidence in senior leaders and others

  • Skilled at all forms of communication including speech, words, images, video, social and web

  • A concise and compelling writer

  • A positive and enthusiastic team player

  • Detail oriented and passionate about great work

  • Comfortable with communications technology and complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fortune 500 company experience preferred but not required
