The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Maintain a line of communication and a collaborative working relationship with the AECOM Leadership team

  • Assist with presentation materials – Design, renderings, material palette, and other presentation visuals

  • Mentor and coach junior staff for growth

  • Ability to communicate design concept and intent through various media is critical both to internal team as well as with clients

  • Assist with developing / maintaining resource library vendor contacts and relevant content

  • Strong planning ability

  • Assists in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic architectural problems

  • Maintains conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes

  • Participates in project design direction and team discussions and takes initiative on strategic issues such as design direction or space planning options

  • Responsible for communication with project team, consultants and clients

  • Leads entry and mid-level interior designers through projects

  • Works under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

  • Researches interior products to gain product knowledge

  • Provides color/finish/material research and selection

  • Brings forward new ideas, formulas and methods

  • Participates in business development activities through client contact with senior Interior Designers

  • Exhibits skills in Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills

  • May be developing skills with project management tools such as work plans or fee calculations

  • Is involved in construction administration activities through site visits and review of payment applications

  • Supports the work of the Senior Interior Designer in executing the interiors design and vision

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interiors from an accredited university

  • 5+ years expertise, with an emphasis on Corporate Interiors, with projects of 100,000 SF or larger

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project

  • Positive and collaborative work style, who can strategically plan complex projects

  • Ability to lead the client through extensive pre-lease real estate evaluation processes which include test fit planning, work letter review and building analysis

  • Work well under pressure, have excellent time management skills, able to prioritize multiple project deliverables, all while maintaining a good sense of humor

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others

  • Flexibility to travel within the United States

  • Ability to assign work, tasks and track utilization in accordance with company standard tracking programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • NCIDQ certification / CCIDC certification or CA Registered Architect, and LEED AP
