Job Summary

AECOM’s Global Tax Team is 65 people strong with locations in Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong, Brisbane and Toronto. The group’s primary responsibility is providing world-class tax planning and strategies to manage its worldwide effective tax rate. We work closely with operations and other teams around the world to accomplish this.

We are looking for a strategic minded, experienced tax professional to be responsible for providing compensation tax advisory services to Human Resources, Executive Compensation, Operations, Global Mobility and Shared Services. In addition, will be responsible for improving compensation/payroll processes and instituting applicable policies and procedures. Will also have the opportunity to work on other tax planning projects beyond compensation. Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Strategic payroll tax advisory for all types of compensation including fringe benefits and equity awards.

  • Researching and responding to complex inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders.

  • Staying current on federal, state and local law changes that impact payroll taxes and proactively implementing changes.

  • Reviewing current payroll and related processes and recommending and implementing new policies/procedures and process improvements.

  • Managing large federal and state payroll tax related compensation projects.

  • Partnering with Business Units, Human Resources, Executive Compensation, The Shared Service Center and Global Mobility organizations.

  • Payroll Tax planning related to M&A and internal reorganization activities.

  • Coordinating Federal and State payroll exams.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10 years experience managing complex, large-scale compensation tax issues in public, consulting and/or corporate environments.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Proven background in researching, analyzing, interpreting and applying domestic tax laws and principles and SEC reporting rules.

  • Ability to identify emerging tax issues and potential impact to Company.

  • Be a team player with the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.

  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or Master’s Degree or LLM in Tax.
