We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM’s London, Ontario office is seeking a Municipal Engineer /Project Manager for immediate employment. This is a great opportunity for an intermediate level Municipal Engineer/ Project Manager who is seeking a role that allows them to expand their experience and responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in design, project management, proposal writing, business development, and client liaison. In addition, they will have the experience and enthusiasm to enhance and grow a municipal design team that includes both municipal infrastructure/reconstruction projects as well as land/subdivision development. As part of the Water Group within AECOM, you will report directly to the Manager, Community Infrastructure.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead existing municipal technical design staff, including technical leadership and mentoring

  • Client liaison and relationship management - provide clients with municipal engineering services

  • Prepare documentation related to current or prospective projects, including correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, and specifications

  • Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards

  • Develop new business and grow the team

  • Liaise with and assist other departments and offices in the provision of design services to client, as applicable

  • Perform financial and budget control duties on projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of municipal engineering and design and project management experience in consulting engineering environment delivering municipal projects

  • P.Eng. (Ontario)

  • Strong technical and analytical skills, good understanding of OPSS and OPSD

  • Rural and urban municipal planning and design services experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as team building, strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Proven ability to write proposals and obtain new work

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of design and project management experience

  • 2+ years in management role, including direct employee reports

  • Municipal experience in planning, preliminary and detailed design, and Contract Administration

  • Experience in land use planning and land development or site plan preparation and studies

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience in transportation design/reconstruction projects
