Position Title Senior Planner (Infrastructure Delivery)

AECOM are looking for a Senior Planner to join their London Planning team to contribute to strategic planning and infrastructure delivery for a range of public and private sector organisations tackling todays underlying planning challenge of delivering sufficient housing and economic growth alongside supporting infrastructure.
Whilst working on all aspects of growth and infrastructure, the role will include a focus on social infrastructure planning due to our continued prominence in this technical area. Your wider responsibilities would include:
Responsible to project directors for managing small-medium sized planning and infrastructure delivery projects
Managing and scoping technical discipline input into infrastructure delivery plans or investment frameworks through AECOM colleagues or with external consultants
Responsible to undertake a significant technical role as part of an integrated project team on large, multi-disciplinary strategic planning projects.
Assist in the development and innovation of tools and model to advance our growth and infrastructure planning work
Organise and help facilitate stakeholder workshop sessions and deliver technical presentations.
Proactive in being client focused, understanding the needs of the project and offering high quality, professional town planning advice.
Provide support on business development efforts and develop business awareness through resource & project management. Over time develop a project management role in business development and work-winning.

Reporting to the Associates and Directors in the Planning Team.
Provide guidance to junior staff within studio and over time start to oversee and manage junior and graduate staff.
A portfolio of work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities (literacy and numeracy).
A track record of contributing to innovative technical solutions to meet project challenges
Experience of key client relationships and management.
Ability to hit the ground running by proactively taking control of distinct parts of a multidisciplinary project with limited direction required.
Strong use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Adobe InDesign and Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
Experience working with complex information datasets with the ability to oversee multiple project inputs and outputs
Experience of Project management (project set ups, budgeting and programming)
Experienced in growth and infrastructure planning (with an appreciation of current social, green, transport and utility infrastructure planning issues)
A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A team player who can work as part of wide project teams – making high-quality technical contributions. Helps support the building of the team and the internal relationship.
A desire to contribute towards some of the most prominent and forward thinking spatial strategies in the UK.
Degree level qualification in Planning (or a related discipline with a minimum 2:1 degree) and ideally an MSc/Dip qualification in Planning (or a related discipline).
Membership of an appropriate professional institution (RTPI/RICS).
Experience post qualification across a range of planning roles and project experience.
