Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our busy London team.

The role will be:

  • To provide support to AECOM Design Teams and external architects and assist with the management of the design process in London, the UK and internationally.

  • To help grow the Design Management team in the UK by demonstrating value at every opportunity and assist in managing and mentoring junior design managers.

  • To forge relationships with architects and engineers across AECOM and externally to build up a contact database for future business development.

  • WorkcloselywiththeDesignManagementteamDirectorandassistinthemanagementoftheDesignManagementteam.

  • SupporttheDesignManagementDirectorin their role andundertakedutiessuchasbusinessdevelopment, teamperformancereviewsetc.as required.

  • Gain anunderstandingoftheTeamleader’s role andresponsibilitiesandwhenrequired,supplementtheTeamLeader in their absence

  • ManagementofAECOMfinancialprocessandinvoicing.

  • Contribute totheDMbusiness planningasrequired and continuously review business planning targets to monitor progress of the team.

  • LeadDesignManagementprojects across the UK and Internationally.

  • Assistinthedevelopment oftheDesignManagement teammembersthrough mentoring, trainingandreviews.

  • ReviewofworkoutputsfromDesignManagement teamprior to issue.

Minimum Requirements

The job holder will be expected to have a previous experience of working alongside Design Teams and an understanding and empathy of the design process. Additionally, working within a team environment would be beneficial to the role.

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, client facing individuals who have an empathy with architects/designers and a desire to find solutions to their problems.

Preferred Qualifications

No specific qualification is required, although the role may suit candidates with an architectural background (5+ years PQE) or an equivalent industry standard qualification that demonstrates an understanding of the design and construction process.
