Job Summary

Our Transportation team currently have a vacancy in our Aecom Rail Team for a Project Manager with experience of working on Network Rail’s infrastructure, London Underground and metro / light rail networks. AECOM are currently expanding their already substantial rail engineering team in Croydon/London following several major project wins.

The successful candidate will have solid post graduate experience. You will have proven design management experience of delivering projects to client’s satisfaction at the appropriate standard, ensuring accuracy of drawings and calculations, ensuring designs are economic and appropriate and that the relevant codes and standards are complied with. You will have strong business development and client relationships skills and the ability to develop and manage the work of others. You will also have the technical ability and knowledge and competence to guide and teach others.

Job Responsibilities:

• Setting up the project;

• Managing all risks including quality, environmental and health and safety;

• Managing quality and integrating quality into all aspects of the project;

• Drafting Agreements and monitoring their execution;

• Appointing and managing sub consultants in accordance with company procedures;

• Establishing and implementing the Project Plan;

• Establishing and maintaining forecasts, costs and revenue budgets;

• Establishing and managing project team interfaces;

• All communications with Client representatives for the project;

• Producing, checking and verifying all deliverables;

• Managing and documenting all scope and fee changes and other variations;

• Implementing and monitoring the agreed staff development and internal communications program;

• Timely reconciliation of WIP, invoicing and debt collection;

• Post project review and requesting Client feedback on project completion;

• Project closure.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience of working with large infrastructure and minor projects within Rail covering E&P / Rail systems

  • Experience of working on a variety of projects as project leader on some with experience of dealing directly with clients

  • Experience of managing small teams

  • Awareness of the role of CEM and CRE according to Network Rail’s Standard NR/L2/INI/02009 Engineering Management for Projects

  • Experience of significant design management

  • Understanding of Health and Safety including CDM

  • Prince2 - Foundation (as minimum)

  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification at https://www.apm.org.uk/introcert ( SCQF at http://www.scqf.org.uk/features/Framework.htm Level 6): (as a minimum).

  • APMP: The APM Project Management Qualification at https://www.apm.org.uk/apmp (IPMA Level D, SCQF at http://www.scqf.org.uk/features/Framework.htm Level 7) (preferred)
