An interesting and involved role has arisen for an internal communications manager to support the UK & Ireland operations of a dynamic and evolving international business. The role will report to the Head of Internal Communications for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa and be responsible for delivering a structured and creative internal communications programme to ensure employees across UK and Ireland are listened to, informed and engaged.
This role will see you joining AECOM’s marketing and communications team - a lively and diverse team of professionals specialising in a broad range of marketing activity. Covering everything from brand to strategic marketing, graphic design to events, and of course all aspects of communications, both internal and external, our close-knit team works together with the overall goal of supporting the growth ambitions of AECOM in EMIA, and bringing our strategic plans to life with creative, strategic and effective marketing and communications activity.
Responsibilities include providing internal communications advice and hands-on support to the UK&I Chief Executive and Operations Director to help them effectively communicate business goals, performance and strategic direction to all employees in an accessible and inclusive way.
Further responsibilities include;
Working with the Head of Internal Communications for EMIA designing and implement the UK & Ireland internal communications strategy.
Supporting the UK&I office leader network in driving engagement at a local level by providing an internal communications framework, advice and templates for effective, inclusive and two-way communications.
Planning, editing and writing relevant and interesting content for a variety of internal communications platforms including the employee intranet, regular email newsletters, internal apps, videos, social media and printed material.
Designing and implementing internal communications campaigns and material that drive engagement with local, national and international projects and initiatives.
Building strong relationships and a network across the UK&I business at all levels and with communications colleagues across EMIA.
Being an expert: advising internal customers on effective internal communications including presentation support; communications planning; developing key messages; and creating best practices.
We’re looking for a story-teller. Someone with excellent writing skills and the know-how to find the stories that will help bring the business priorities, brand and values to life in an engaging and accessible way.
We want someone who's great with people - who can build strong relationships across the business, instil confidence in the most cynical, stand up to the most strident and bring the right blend of helpfulness and focus to the role. And perhaps most importantly we want someone who is looking to get fully involved, try new things and roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.
So if you’ve got strong writing, creative and organisational skills as well as a strong track record of providing internal communications support within a large, professional services company and are looking for your next challenge in a complex, fast-moving and ever-evolving company, this could well be just up your street.
A good knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite including Indesign and Photoshop.
Preferably experienced in change communications and the use of intranet content management systems, ideally SharePoint.
