Job Summary

This a role within the Urban Design team at AECOM. The fundamental role is to assist with the delivery of significant elements of major plans currently being undertaken by our UK offices and our offices internationally.

AECOM has a strong focus on integrated design processes and will require you to work with a range of disciplines and within different cultural contexts. This role includes significant amounts of international work and may include some extended periods abroad.

This is a 12 month contract.

Minimum Requirements

PROJECT EXPERIENCE This role will require the development of spatial responses to complex Urban development problems. You will need the ability to be able to work at a number of scales from Regional Planning to detail interfaces with Built Form and assure that all scales are interrelated in terms of spatial hierarchy and discipline framework.The role will require you to interface closely with planning teams and design teams and will see you embedded within teams developing spatial solutions grounded in rigorous social, environmental technical, economic and planning positions.You should have experience in the delivery of plans for private and public sector clients and should have led the delivery of significant components of these plans. KNOWLEDGE BASE You should have a clear understanding of spatial hierarchies and frameworks underpinning large scale plans and have the ability to communicate these concepts in order to allow associated disciplines to fulfill technical project related tasks as well as achieving project deliverables. You should be aware of contemporary urban agendas and have the ability to position current projects within this context.From a production perspective you should have a comprehensive knowledge of documentation platforms such as Creative Suite and have a clear grasp on documentation processes which ultimately feed into detailed architectural and infrastructure design and delivery.You should be able to structure work programmes and delivery frameworks for large scale projects, with demonstrable solid experience on international projects involving significant travel to meet project demands or requiring relocation to project location.

Preferred Qualifications

Architectural/Urban Design degree; Post Graduate: Minimum Masters in associated field
