Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to be based in our Lloydminster, Alberta location.

This position will be responsible for providing knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts and ensuring jobs are properly set up, maintained and closed upon completion. Signing off job set ups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents and job closes. Also accountable for Client cost reporting, Month end review, adjustments, accruals and revenue recognition. Management of the accounting team includes a matrix reporting structure with the team.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts

  • Ensuring jobs are properly set up, maintained and closed upon completion

  • Signing off job set ups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents and job closes

  • Client cost reporting, Variance Reporting

  • Month end review, adjustments, accruals and revenue recognition

  • Maintaining Work files

  • Setting up and maintaining Job Rate Table(s)

  • Ad hoc Reporting requirements as necessary

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description.

  • Supporting the OC Manager or Project Manager and Finance Manager as required

  • Assist in collection of A/R

  • Analyzing Job Margins and reviewing and sign off unbilled margin reports

  • Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting

  • Management of the accounting team. This includes a matrix reporting structure with the Project Accountants, Job Cost Administrators, Branch Administrators, Junior Accountants and Intermediate Accountant

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or certification from accredited college or technical/business school

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience required

  • Proven proficiency within a senior accounting or finance function within an industrial contracting company

  • Professional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis and financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience with construction, manufacturing, and/or trucking industries would be a definite asset

  • Previous experience preparing financial statements would be a definite asset
