Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Safety Advisor to be based in our Lloydminster, Alberta location.

This position will report to the SH&E Lead and be assigned to a defined geographic area of responsibility. This position provides “hands on” and site level SH&E technical expertise. They seek continuous improvement of all SH&E processes, maintaining a risk based approach to support a company culture that “all incidents can be prevented”. They must possess strong problem solving, interpersonal, project management, mentoring, coaching and communication (oral & written) skills.

May include the following responsibilities:

  • Report to the Regional Safety Manager.

  • Leading, guiding, and mentoring employees on company Safety Best Practice’s, focused on loss prevention, risk management and hold the belief that People Are Number One 24/7.

  • Performs reporting, risk assessments and auditing and observes all SH&E related activities and policies within a location. Trains and coaches employees on various tasks and ensures all employees meet company training requirements for their specific role

  • Performs accident investigations and communicates with the SH&E manager and others until all action items have been closed.

  • Files SH&E documents and participates in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs in the district.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Certificate: Post secondary certification from an accredited college, university or technical institution in Environmental Health and Safety

  • CSO - Construction Safety Officer or working towards CRSP, CSP, *CHSC designation (Construction Safety Officer,Canadian Registered Safety Professional, *Certified Safety Professional, Certified Health and Safety Consultant)

  • 3-5 years: In an industrial, industrial maintenance and/or construction environment.

  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification required

  • H2S Alive Certification required

  • First Aid Certification required

This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory drivers abstract for review
