Job Summary

Intelligent and motivated Finance Manager is needed to manage the full scope of Finance in Belgium and Netherlands and partner with the Operational Management team.The Benelux Finance Manager will be responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts, financial accounting and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, intercompany, treasury and tax ensuring compliance with US and Dutch GAAP.

He or she will lead business partnering initiatives with non-finance staff such as the Country Manager, HR Manager and Project Managers. This role will manage a team of 5, of which 2 Finance professionals and 3 Project Accounting professionals.


Minimum Requirements

You must have strong academics and have a recognised accounting qualification in addition to relevant experience in multinational businesses. Knowledge around project finance and the nuances of a time billing company are key, alongside excellent communication skills, energy and charisma to fit into this dynamic international environment.

  • Manage the month-end closing so that it is completed accurately and on time.

  • Ensure that all required business reports and forecasts, including cash forecasts, P&L forecasting, ad-hoc reporting requests and the annual budgeting process are completed accurately and on time.

  • Manage the Project Accounting team to ensure that projects are being controlled from a financial perspective from Bid Stage to completion.

  • Review of B/S, bank and intercompany reconciliations

  • Report Risks, Opportunities and issues to ensure they are understood and acted upon.

  • Manage in country banking and Treasury reporting.

  • Manage the audit process, prepare statutory accounts and ensure filing is performed on time.

  • Liaise with the Shared Service Centers to coordinate and improve accounting processes.

  • Handle the preparation and filing of local taxes working closely with tax advisors.

  • Lead internal control improvement processes and ERP roll outs.

  • People and performance management of the Benelux Finance team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • +10 years’ experience as a finance manager, preferably in a multinational.

  • Finance related degree;

  • Native Dutch speaker and excellent written and spoken English;

  • Stakeholder management skills and presence;

  • Able to create collaborative relationships and influence key business stakeholders through innovative financial insight, control and interventions;

  • You have a pro-active resilient approach and you can challenge the business partners and stakeholders.
