About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
As a result of our continued success, we are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental Team based in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of our most highly rated EIA teams in the UK.
By joining our Leeds Environmental Team we offer you the potential to be involved across a wide range of development projects – including ports and airports, highways, light railways, power plants, power transmission lines, and oil and gas developments.
You will assist in managing and coordinating environmental inputs across the project lifecycle; from early strategy development, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design and construction and scheme operation/ maintenance. You will support our input to locally and nationally important schemes progressing through all types of consenting regimes (including Development Consent Orders) and working with high profile clients such as Associated British Ports, National Grid, Highways England, Network Rail, Shell, Transport for Greater Manchester, power companies, local authorities and many others.
As a Senior Environmental Consultant you will;
Co-ordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs to a wide range of development projects
Co-ordinate preparation of EIA screening and scoping activities, Environmental Statements including the technical review of specialist chapters
Liaise with clients and internal supply teams
Work in partnership with other members of the Environmental Team (both within Leeds and across the UK), delegating activities to junior staff as applicable
Monitor and manage budgets
Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals.

To be successful in this role we want to hear from individuals with the following;
Appropriate professional membership
Previous relevant environmental consultancy experience
Experience coordinating environmental commissions and EIAs for a wide range of development projects.
Work in renewable energy, port-related developments, railway and highway schemes and electrical connections would be a distinct advantage
An excellent understanding of the EIA processes (including screening and scoping), environmental assessment methods and applicable planning legislation
Excellent report writing, technical reviewing and communication skills – all with an attention to detail
Excellent project management skills, including experience of programming, and budget/ financial management
The ability to work as part of an established team, supervising junior members of staff as applicable.
University degree in an environmental qualification plus
