About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
We are currently offering an exciting employment opportunity for an Arboricultural Consultant to join our well established arboricultural team based in Leeds and part of a wider leading global consultancy with excellent opportunities for career progression.
The team is involved in a varied range of projects across the UK including tree risk assessment and tree assessment in relation to development. Many of our projects are high profile and complex, and an innovative and practical approach to problem solving is often required.
With the support of the Principal Arboriculturist you will have the opportunity to work with AECOMs engineers, hydrologists, ecologists, architects, landscape architects and others to facilitate positive outcomes for our clients and to develop your skills and career.
Arboricultural services within AECOM are typically provided as part of a wider range of integrated environmental and engineering services to support the planning and development process. The opportunity represents an exceptional prospect for the chosen candidate to be involved in the delivery and expansion of arboricultural services within an industry leading, multinational consultancy.
You will be involved in the delivery of arboricultural services and technical advice for a wide range of urban and rural projects on a variety of scales. An understanding of client expectations, commercial awareness and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team is also key to this role. The candidate should have the ability to clearly and simply communicate technical concepts or principals to both clients and professional colleagues.

The successful candidate will possess a sound level of arboricultural knowledge through a combination of academic qualification and demonstrable previous experience.
Previous experience should include undertaking tree condition surveys, the production of BS5837 level survey and reporting work, the management of trees on development sites and familiarity with Statutory Designations relating to trees.
IT skills should include Microsoft Office with the use of AutoCAD, GIS and industry graphics packages being an advantage within this role.
A full driving licence will be required.
Qualifications should include as a minimum a recognised level 4 Arboricultural Qualification (such as the Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture or equivalent) and evidence of recent active training and CPD activity within the arboricultural industry.
