About the Business Line
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
Provide technical support to 5 Year Plans and life cycle planning. SHARP team member, facilitates integration of SHARP team priorities and requirements with project plans. Provides technical support to ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) estimates for projects, as well as risk assessments to support proper project prioritization. Provides technical support to project task plan development and implementation. Perform a variety of assignments on multiple facility task plans simultaneously. Projects range in multi-discipline complexity related to industrial base operations and maintenance of facilities infrastructure, with a focus on mechanical and HVAC industrial systems.
1) Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks independently.
2) Provide conceptual designs in order to support ROM and task plan development.
3) Participate in SHARP team activities.
4) May provide training to less experienced engineers.
5) Provide technical support for management of project/task order efforts.
6) Prepare, deliver and submit technical presentations in support of planning efforts.
7) Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply
with requirements and specifications.
8) Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation to support ROM and risk assessment efforts.
9) Conduct site visits, and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
10) Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
11) Ensuring assigned projects are completed on time, and within approved scope and budget. .
12) Integrate project resources with budget development and execution skill in interrelating requirements, schedules, and cost.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related scientific field and at least 7 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Experience with design of Mechanical, HVAC, and Fire Protection systems required. Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Position may require travel. Experience using RS Means and MS Projects is desired.
Ability to manage multiple facility improvement task orders, both as a lead project engineer, and support to other organizations is desired. Project Management Professional certification is a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. US citizenship required for unescorted access to assigned work area(s). Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check w/Inquiries.
