Job Summary

The Database Warehouse Architect/Administrator is responsible for the performance, scalability, security and support of the data warehouse databases along with technical support of the associated ETL processes, data analytics, data models and business intelligence reporting solutions. This position is located at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support in the definition, design, and development of a multi-user data warehouse database environment.

  2. Development of technical strategies and solutions as related to Database, Data Model & ETL (Extract, Transform & Load). Includes responsibility for data warehouse architecture and design and development of data model & ETL requiring multiple technologies.

  3. Collaborate with data modeler, metadata specialist, business analysts and ETL team members to resolve complex data design issues/provide optimal solutions that meet business requirements/benefits system performance.

  4. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution.

  5. Monitor business use and performance of the data warehouse and provides feedback on data warehouse architecture, as well as provides mentoring and assistance in tuning to business partners and users.

  6. Troubleshoots and resolves user and database issues to ensure the data warehouse meets service level requirements.

  7. Collaborate with other DBA teams, Architecture and external vendors in planning, testing, configuration and execution of installations, upgrades and migration.

  8. Assist applications development staff and users on database solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of databases.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience, and two to four years minimum of related experience is required. Good written and oral communication skills and familiarity with word processing, database, spreadsheet programs and integrated software applications are required.

Extensive technical knowledge and experience in multiple core technology areas and integration, along with strong planning and analytical skills a plus. Must have proven competency in the following areas: working with large multi terabytes of data warehouse, performance tuning of database & SQL queries, designing & developing databases to support multiple users and complex ETL packages. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analytical Databases – Tabular and experience with SharePoint Server Administration a significant plus.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance. US Citizenship required for unescorted access to assigned work area(s). Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check w/Inquiries.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft SQL Server Analytical Databases - Tabular experience preferred

  • Experience with SharePoint Server Administration a significant plus.
