Job Summary

The Indian Navy has appointed AECOM as the project management consultant for its prestigious Project Seabird – Phase IIA. The largest naval infrastructure project for India, it involves creation of a naval base at Karwar on the west coast of India. Upon completion, this $3 billion program and effort will provide the Indian Navy with its largest naval base on the west coast and also the largest naval base east of the Suez Canal.

During the decade-long project, AECOM will manage and oversee the planning, design, contracting, construction and acceptance of the entire works, including construction of a new Naval Air Station.

AECOM is looking for an Officer Administration . The responsibilities for this role shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Expectations from the new hire will be ability to help establish and manage the Project site at Karwar. Broad scope of work will entail; lease management and housing management for Project staff, managing day to day office functioning, making the office functional viz furniture, fixtures, office equipment, vehicle and manpower contracts as per requirement of operations.

  • Shortlist options for staff accommodation, leasing and lease administration.

  • Manage all aspects of staff accommodation on a daily basis viz, cafeteria, housekeeping, other soft and hard services. End to end management of the residential camp.

  • Procurement of furniture, fixtures, office equipment etc.

  • Setup contracts for vehicle vendors as per requirement of site staff.

  • Contracts for manpower for providing security services, administrative manpower as per requirement.

  • Preparation of RFPs/ RFQs and sourcing vendors/ services.

  • Analysis of quotes, negotiations & process for approvals as per company policy.

  • Budget management and reporting.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.

  • Prepare bid awards requiring board approval.

  • Inventory/ asset disposal and retirement.

  • Bill Processing.

  • Stat compliances and maintain the compliance tracker.

  • Coordinate vendor activity and negotiations.

  • Maintain proficiency in computerized purchasing/ business systems; be literate and functional with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

  • Maintain accurate purchase order prices and vendor cataloguing.

  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

  • Willingness to travel, at least 15% of the time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation in Commerce. MBA will be an added advantage.

  • Five to Seven Years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills.
