The Indian Navy has appointed AECOM as the project management consultant for its prestigious Project Seabird – Phase IIA. The largest naval infrastructure project for India, it involves creation of a naval base at Karwar on the west coast of India. Upon completion, this $3 billion program and effort will provide the Indian Navy with its largest naval base on the west coast and also the largest naval base east of the Suez Canal.
During the decade-long project, AECOM will manage and oversee the planning, design, contracting, construction and acceptance of the entire works, including construction of a new Naval Air Station.
AECOM is looking for a IT specialist to be deployed at site.Expectations from the new hire will be ability to act as a single point of contact for all IT support to Project Seabird and act as a bridge between, the Project, Corporate IT, Client and Contractors. Broad charter of duties is as follows:
Acts as the single point of contact for all IT related matters at the Project site.
Act as an interface and bridge between internal (Project) and Corporate IT.
Proactively supports the delivery of IT Processes at the Project site.
Builds a strong business relationship with corporate IT.
Candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
Facilitate in trouble shooting of server or network related issues.
Providing technical support, including identifying problem incidents with their subsequent resolution.
Assembling computers and Maintaining company peripheral desktop and network devices regularly, including printers and scanners.
Creating Profiles to users for customizing desktop settings.
Ensuring functionality of desktop systems throughout departments through frequent evaluations and routine maintenance.
Planning and executing routine repairs and system upgrades.
Making use of help-desk systems to prioritize work-load and updating queries and calls.
Install and configure various applications, software etc.
Knowledge in trouble shooting AutoCAD/ Bentley/ Revit applications used in design and engineering.
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues;
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers;
Testing and evaluating new technology as and when so directed by Corporate IT.
Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
cts as an effective member of the Project Support Team.
Ensure adherence to IT policies of the Corporate, Client and information security as per policy.
Asset, Inventory control and management
Carrying out such other duties as may be reasonably requested by the line manager, or any senior manager.
BE/ BSc Computer Sciences.
CCNA/ CCNP or equivalent certifications
5-7 Years in an MNC/ large engineering company.
Knowledge on Windows Server 2012 / 2008
Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V Environment
Knowledge of VMware VSphere 5.1 or above will be an added advantage.
Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
- Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills.
