AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Material Management Specialist to support AFGHAN Integrated Support Services (AISS) located in Kabul, Afghanistan. Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities. Review production schedules and confer with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material. Requisition material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Arrange internal transfer of materials to meet production requirements. Examine property, material, and POL products to ensure they are in good condition, and have not exceeded their shelf life. Monitor and control movement of material and parts to support specific work orders. Ensure personnel utilize manual and mechanical Material Handling Equipment in an efficient and safe manner. Utilize manual and automated systems to account for, locate, and transfer materials. Conduct daily safety briefings to personnel in an effort to reduce mishaps within the workplace. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AISS Safety Policies and Procedures. Instill a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements maybe substituted for years of experience.

  • Must have the ability to work independently.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Must have excellent multi-taking and organizational skills.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have strong problem solving skills.

  • Must observe all safety, HazWaste, and Hazmat.

  • Must have a neat and professional appearance.

  • Material Management experience preferred.

  • Must basic knowledge in the use of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and other relatedapplications.

  • Must be capable of working with personnel from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
