About the Business Line
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance Specialist on our Afghan Integrated Support Services (AISS) location Kabul Afghanistan. Independently conducts compliance reviews of areas as directed by the Program Manager. Verify the implementation, effectiveness and efficiency of business processes through previously audited including but not limited to financial, human resources and contract administration processes through extensive interface with operational placement to include operations, quality, business, human resources, warehouse, procurement, property, information technology and maintenance. Examine source documents supporting selected transactions or processes, and conducts appropriate inquires of critical employees in areas subject to follow-up verification reviews. Prepare flowcharts and/or process maps relative to selected business processes. Analyze data obtained for evidence of weaknesses and/or deficiencies in internal controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of evidence of compliance with laws, government regulations and applicable policies and procedures. Perform special compliance related tasks or compliance related projects. Prepare reports for review that summarize results of the verification review prior to presentation. Promote, teach, and present compliance as a means for product improvement and efficiency. Interact positively with all internal and external customers. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AISS Safety Policies and Procedures. Instill a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieved low accident rates and minimal lost time injuries. Adhere to policies, procedures and work instructions in support of the AISS Quality Management System. Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two (2) years of auditing experience preferred.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to two (2) years of college.
Understanding of the Code of Business Ethics, conflicts and/or potential conflicts of interest, internally and externally to the organization (required).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be detail oriented with a high degree of attention to detail.
Familiarity of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and related federal and state legislation and regulations.
Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
Must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Word and Excel, Outlook and other related applications.
Must be capable of working with personnel from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
