About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a mid-level environmental engineer to join our Indianapolis, Indiana or Bloomington, Indiana AECOM office team. This full-time position will involve providing support for performing facility compliance and management systems audits at client locations; assisting clients with the implementation of environmental, health & safety, and energy management systems; providing regulatory compliance assistance to clients.
The successful candidate may also will assist in supporting Due Diligence/Phase I assessments and, SPCC plan and SWPP preparation; and property M&A transaction projects; ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 gap assessments and will perform task management as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
EH&S auditing (environmental media, OSHA compliance, DOT compliance) EH&S compliance
EHS management system implementation and training
EHS information management system implementation support
Compiling, evaluating, analyzing, and presenting engineering calculations and evaluations
Preparation of work plans, reports, and other technical documents
Coordination and oversight of subcontractors
Coordinate and work on specialized environmental projects and environmental site assessments (Phase I, II and III ESAs), environmental compliance and monitoring programs, and regulatory approval compliance for industrial and landfill facilities
Comply with and drive the quality management system and health and safety
Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or Occupation Safety required
5+ years of relevant EH&S and/or regulatory compliance experience with emphasis on EH&S rules and regulations promulgated by the U.S.
Strong analytical and communications skills are a must
Able to work flexible hours & travel (estimated 20-40%)
OSHA 40 Hr Hazwoper
Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills are desirable (Experience with Environmental Data Management Software Tools, including EQuIS Data Processor (EDP), ArcGIS
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Able to interact effectively with internal and external clients
Strong oral and written communication skills required
Knowledge of Phase I, II, III Environmental Site Assessments with an emphasis on contaminated sites
Strong computer skills and a significant understanding of Microsoft office applications (specifically Excel)
Comfortable in both an office and field environment, as assignment priorities may change Valid driver’s license is required for business travel
EPA and OSHA ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 experience
Experience with Environmental Data Management Software Tools, including EQuIS Data Processor (EDP), ArcGIS and EQuIS Data Gathering Engine (EDGE)
