Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

The Environment Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, and motivated Environmental Scientist for immediate employment in the Indianapolis, IN office, to be responsible for the planning, direction and supervision of various projects. Projects will be performed under the direction of the Group or Program Manager in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Group.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and lead the project assignments and/or teams, including all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools

  • Will work under supervision of Project Director while owning the quality outcome, financial performance, and client satisfaction

  • Successfully develop strategy with the project team and clients, prepare proposals, and execute projects

  • May act as primary point of contact with clients

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field

  • 5+ years of environmental assessment and environmental project management experience

  • Working knowledge of applicable federal and state environmental regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, CAA, etc.) as they apply to current or potential projects and individual areas of expertise

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)

  • Ability to handle the demands of multiple priorities for various clients and projects (e.g., be able to execute project work and proposals simultaneously)

  • Ability to guide and direct junior and mid-level staff

  • Experience managing staff and technical teams

  • Experience with preparation of scopes of work, project budgeting, scheduling, and business/development

  • Experience with proposal development, client interactions and established client relations

  • Must be proficient with MS Office applications

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally

  • Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with safety, due diligence, and site investigation/remediation projects

  • OSHA 40hr training
