AECOM is always seeking a highly motivated and experienced CAD Structural Designer for employment in the Hunt Valley, MD office. The successful candidate will work in our Bridge Design group and have the ability to be client-focused and work well in a team environment. If interested, please apply for consideration.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performing assignments related to the development of contract plans and structural details for transportation structural design and rehabilitation projects
Working under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and delegating work to other CADD staff
Other duties as assigned
Technical or Associate's degree or equivalent
9+ years of experience in drafting/designing structural details with emphasis on steel and concrete bridges
Fundamental understanding of structural details in both steel and concrete bridge structures
Fundamental understanding of the layout and development of contract plans
Extensive experience with MicroStation
Attention to detail and quality
Able to develop details with minimal input from design staff
Forward thinking and motivated
Strong oral communication skills
Experience in development of contract plans for transportation projects
Advanced skills using industry standard computer software (MicroStation, AutoCad, etc.) associated with the development of Bridge Structural Plans; in addition, knowledge of Excel, Word, ProjectWise, Acrobat, 3D modeling and other engineering production software is recommended for the position, as well as prior experience maintaining electronic project file organization and archives
15 years of experience in drafting/designing structural details with emphasis on steel and concrete bridges
Experienced in developing structural details for steel and concrete bridges
Able to supervise CAD technicians
Able/Willing to work with AutoCAD when needed
