Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Construction Inspector for immediate employment for the Houston, TX office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties

  • Performing daily field inspections

  • Maintaining inspection records

  • Participating in punch lists, testing, and commissioning

  • Tracking quality assurance progress

  • Providing input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers

  • Inspecting construction progress which may include ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications

  • Observing work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship

  • Reviewing contract plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate building codes and project requirements

  • Observing work for compliance with contract documents

  • Reviewing and responding to shop drawing submittals

  • Responding to request for information, clarifications, proposals, and change orders

  • Assisting with review and reconciliation of construction schedules

  • Scheduling updates and contractor payments

  • Observing testing and reviewing test results for conformance with technical specifications

  • Confirming quantities for pay applications

  • Assisting with verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout/commissioning

  • Supervision of project staff

  • Training of field staff

  • Coordinating work with staff and contractor

  • Tracking budgets

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma

  • 10+ years of highway and bridge inspection experience

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Willing to work the hours necessary to complete the inspection; this work may require day and/or night inspections along with holidays and weekends

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Must be able to obtain ACI Certifications within 6 months of date of hire

  • Must be able to obtain Level IB within 12 months of date of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years on projects using TxDOT Standard Specifications

  • NICET II/III or ACI Certifications

  • Site Manager (Experience in use and able to train staff on use)

  • Level IB certification

  • HCTRA experience a benefit
