We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM’s Gulf/Southwest Region is actively seeking a highly talented Industrial Water/Wastewater Regional Market Sector Leader with a background in water resources (dams and levees).

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide strong and confident leadership in Client relationship development and management

  • Project pursuit leadership and management

  • Financial management of a portfolio of projects and programs

  • Strategic planning

  • Building and developing teams to win and deliver

  • Visible internal and external leadership to support project delivery and business development resource needs

  • Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas with peers and regional/national management teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years of experience in municipal, civil engineering consulting, or engineering management companies

  • Previous and on-going successful client relationships with major clients in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Corpus Christi)

  • Proven track record of successful project management of large, multi-disciplinary dams/levees and civil projects

  • Background specific to dam/levees rehabilitation/creation and extensive business development and client relations experience

  • Capable of leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as a project director on project deliveries

  • Proficiency will depend on strong communication skills, previous experience leading interdisciplinary teams on large, complex projects and an interest in mentoring team members

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in municipal, civil engineering consulting, or engineering management companies

  • Professional Engineer license in Texas

  • Record of aiding major water suppliers assemble funding for major projects with knowledge of state and federal funding sources

  • Previous experience with USACE, regional River Authorities and/or TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality)

  • High-profile significant duration participation in water community activities, to include Texas Water Conservation Association (TWCA), membership on one/several of the state panels that have been formed to address major state water supply issues (SB1, SB2, etc)

  • Deep knowledge of dam rehabilitation and new dam creation
