We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.

Job Summary

The Buildings + Places division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Designer for immediate employment in the Houston, TX office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established knowledge of HVAC, Electrical Power & Lighting, and Plumbing design.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise with project engineers and architects to ensure scope and technical requirements are being met

  • Proficient in design of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems in varying building types, including healthcare, sports and higher education; in-depth knowledge of building Electrical systems

  • Work with the design team to develop construction documents, including drawings and specifications

  • Work directly for Engineers and Engineering Managers

  • Conducts on-site visits to document existing project conditions

  • Receives general instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.

  • Project travel possible, maximum 25%

Minimum Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience

  • Technical or Associate’s Degree or equivalent

  • High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

  • Experience with Lighting, Power and Communication Design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with NEC and NFPA

  • LEED Accredited
