Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to oversee a high-profile and complex project. The position requires an especially accomplished individual to spearhead a very demanding yet rewarding long-term project. This position is for immediate employment in the Honolulu, HI office. An experienced Hydrogeologist, or Engineer with strong hydrogeology background, may be particularly suitable for this position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs and manages investigations of impacts to drinking water aquifers

  • Oversees the team and project ensuring work is completed on time and within budget

  • Lead teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projects

  • Manages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects

  • Leads team by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, practices existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance

  • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager

  • Oversees the preparation of work plans, organizes project studies, and prepares reports for large, complex investigations

  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Science or related field

  • 10+ years of overall professional experience including, holding a prominent role on identifiable CERCLA, RCRA, or DoD Programs

  • AECOM MAP training required

  • Proven experience addressing regulator and stakeholder concerns

  • Proven experience successfully managing high-profile projects involving petroleum impacts to groundwater

  • Expertise in volcanic geology, fractured media, complex hydrogeology, groundwater flow modeling, and modeling of fate and transport of subsurface NAPL and dissolved fuel plumes in the vadose and saturated zones

  • Experienced in the drilling of deep wells, and hydrogeological testing and investigation

  • Detail oriented with Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Superior writing, editing, and reporting skills, for a wide variety of audiences

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders

  • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management, ability to analyze financial statements and complete budget tracking

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Must be willing to relocate to Honolulu, HI for the long term

  • The appointment will be subject to approval by a demanding client, and an impressive resume will be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (i.e. Master's or higher)

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience

  • P.E or P.G.

  • Deep well installation experience

  • Groundwater flow and fate and transport modeling experience

  • Tracer testing experience

  • Aquifer testing and groundwater resource evaluations experience

  • Environmental risk analysis experience
