Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Scientist/Geologist for immediate employment for the Honolulu, HI office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Support several site assessment and remediation projects by providing field support, data management and interpretation, technical assistance, and reporting

  • Supervise drilling activities, logging test borings, and collecting soil, groundwater, and soil gas samples

  • May act as task manager to manage small segments of projects, and assist in determining schedule and budget requirements

  • Quality assurance, quality control of work product, and development of field instructions, work plans, and writing reports on field results

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related geoscience field

  • 4+ years experience in field data collection, data review and preparation of technical documents

  • 40 hour HAZWOPER training certificate

  • Must have good computer skills, that include but are not limited to MS Office programs

  • Strong written and verbal communication, technical writing, and organization skills

  • Must be able to take instruction, operate within a team network, and work independently without direct supervision

  • Valid driver's license

  • Travel is required

  • Have a willingness to work on a variety of projects with a strong desire to learn, be motivated and enthusiastic about all aspects of the role, and enjoy the challenge of taking on new responsibilities

  • Must comply with AECOM's Corporate Health and Safety program and actively promote a strong safety culture

  • Ability to independently procure field equipment and assist in identifying subcontracting as required by client

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong preference for local residents, education and/or work experience in Hawaii
