Position Title Senior Urban Designer

Job Summary

Under the direction of Project Director, play a critical role in regional projects in Greater China and South East Asia for design development and documentation. Specific tasks include:

  • Development of urban design and planning concepts, translating them into clear and compelling graphic images.

  • Proposal of innovative design solutions that respond to the concept and effectively address the social, legal, and economic implications of the physical form

  • Generation of designs in response to technical problems posed by a project’s scope

  • Evaluation, selection, and application of standard urban design techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications on projects.

  • Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale projects

  • Responsible for total execution of projects from start to close-out with responsibility for project set-up, scheduling, resourcing, monitoring of quality, organization and risk control.

  • Oversee managers working on client engagements within practice.

  • Oversee accounting, costing and billing.

  • Support business development activities such as negotiating the contract.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-6 years plus post-graduate experience as an Urban Designer, Architect or Landscape Architect.

  • Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.

  • Proposal of innovative design solutions that respond to the concept and effectively address the social, legal, and economic implications of the physical form

  • Generation of designs in response to technical problems posed by a project’s scope

  • Evaluation, selection, and application of standard urban design techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications on projects.

  • Expertise in Adobe Design CS, AutoCAD, and Sketchup or Rhino.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Fluency in both English and / or Chinese required

  • Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Planning
