Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Section Supervisor - Air Quality.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Report to the Air Measurements (AM) Group Manager

  • Perform the supervision and management of Air Measurement (AM) technical staff currently located in our Harvard, MA facility

  • Management/supervision of staff will include staff providing the following client technical services: Field team staff for source emissions testing programs, staff who perform installation and field support of ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring systems plus operate and troubleshoot ( field portable air quality and laboratory) analytical instrumentation and staff who correspond with AECOM project managers to answer project/instrumentation related technical questions and respond to client and/or subcontracted technician requests

  • Provide Business Development (ie client interface and proposal writing) plus Project Management tasks for Air Measurement projects

  • Manage the Air Measurement capital equipment inventory plus work closely with fellow Air Measurement Project Managers and technical staff to ensure client technical and staffing needs are met

  • Interact with inter-departmental Air Quality staff members when future environmental projects and air measurement needs/opportunities become available

  • Actively engage in related types of activities, such as technical paper writing/presenting at technical conferences and professional environmental certification programs with the goal of eventually becoming a recognized technical expert in the Air Measurement business

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related science field

  • General knowledge and course-work in environmental monitoring and regulations will certainly benefit the successful candidate

  • 4+ years of experience in related technical work and supervision

  • Ability to supervise and manager a diverse group of instrumentation technicians while also participating in Business Development plus Project Management tasks

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Ability to perform basic statistical data calculations

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, and Power Point skills)

  • Hands on experience with field and laboratory air quality and meteorological instrumentation

  • 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPPER training certificate

  • Willing and able to periodically travel within and outside of the USA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • College air pollution, chemistry course-work, and strong computer skills

  • Experience in data acquisition systems, scientific scripting/programming and GIS
