Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Group of AECOM Halifax is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment in the Halifax, NS office. The appropriate qualified applicant will support projects from the Water and Environment business disciplines.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of a wide variety of environmental projects;

  • Support in identifying new business opportunities;

  • Provides general support and direction to more junior-level employees on routine assignments;

  • Provides technical peer review for data validation reports and other routine tasks and deliverables;

  • Supports marketing initiatives in maintaining a safe work environment and supporting a culture of safety as evidenced in approach to daily activities and projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science or Studies, Planning, Natural Resource Management or related field;

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in regulatory and environmental assessments, compliance, offshore Oil & Gas, regulatory applications, Impact Assessments;

  • Experience of working in industry sectors relevant to AECOM’s business such as transport, water, mining;

  • Experience of the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement and consultation;

  • Negotiations with regulators;

  • Demonstrated project management and client development experience in the environmental business line;

  • Project and contract management;

  • Cost estimating and setting of reserves;

  • Experience in marketing, proposal development and business development in pursuit of new projects and clients;

  • Effective time management and analytical skills;

  • Valid driver’s license required.
