We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM India is actively seeking for Design Manager – Solid Waste Management / Waste to Energy for a major Urban Development Project. The responsibilities for this role shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Preparation of Comprehensive Solid waste Management Plan for Cities.

  • Checklist preparation for DPR for approval from Ministry of Urban Development.

  • Characterisation & Quantification of Solid Waste & Hazardous Waste to be generated during Construction. & Operations stage of the project.

  • Collection, Segregation and Storage system of various types of waste generated.

  • Revalidate and propose the location of final storage / treatment and recycling system.

  • Preliminary design of storage facilities.

  • Identification of nearest Common Hazardous Waste Transportation, Storage, Disposal facility.

  • Waste Management Plan with applicable rules.

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices, codes and standards.

  • Ability to develop detailed engineering drawings upto GFC level

  • Ability to develop BOQ, cost estimates and detailed Tender Documents

  • Exposure to Construction of such projects.

  • Ability to meet tight Project Submittal Deadlines.

  • Teamwork.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate in Environmental / Civil engineering

  • 10 years in Planning, Design & Implementation of Solid Waste Management Projects

  • Ability to conceive Solid Waste Management Plan for a Township / City, SEZ, Industrial Park, Group Housing etc. using innovative technologies with low carbon footprint

  • Work exposure to implement such systems in the communities

  • Exposure to waste collection in high rise buildings (>40 storey)

  • Exposure to Waste to Energy Projects

  • Exposure of working with multilateral funding agencies such as ADB, World Bank etc.

  • Exposure to International Best Practices and work experience outside India shall be preferable

  • Ability to develop RFP for Developer / Contractors

  • Exposure to various funding methods such as PPP, Hybrid Annuity etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Environmental Planning or related field
