Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

The Environment Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Radiological Safety Analysis Practice Leader for immediate employment in one of our GTA offices. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Nuclear Safety. The successful candidate will develop current and new clients and projects, will build a team to serve clients, will guide and mentor intermediate and entry-level staff, highly focused on client relationships and new client acquisition, and will have strong project management capabilities.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Build upon existing client projects and relationships and develop new business with major clients in the nuclear industry

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in support of ongoing AECOM environmental investigations and remedial design projects

  • Provide leadership for practice area planning and goal setting, working with other senior level staff to provide integrative services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local, national and international collaborative opportunities

  • Lead business development activities and proposal efforts

  • Performing safety analyses for various nuclear facilities

  • Developing and implementing energy, environmental, health & safety management systems (i.e. ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001) and related nuclear standards

  • Providing EHS regulatory compliance support services

  • Developing environmental, health & safety emergency plans for nuclear facilities

  • Developing and executing environmental, health & safety training (compliance and management system focused)

  • Energy, environment and health & safety strategic planning

  • Supporting AECOM's North American EnEHS Consulting Practice with other EnEHS services to our key accounts

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Engineering Physics or equivalent

  • 15+ years of radiological safety analysis

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist designation

  • Strong working knowledge of International and Canada nuclear environmental, health, & safety regulation

  • Practical experience in remediation, storage, transportation, and operations of nuclear facilities

  • Good verbal and written English communications skills are critical

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct industrial experience (e.g., working in an industrial operation)

  • Experience working for a consulting engineering company

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment; good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead large assignments requiring experience and independent judgment and under minimal to no supervision

  • Working knowledge of environmental, health & safety regulation in multiple provinces an asset
