Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking to identify a qualified individual to present as Program Manager (PM) for an international multi-year Construction and Development Program. Hiring for this position is contingent on award of contract. Programs typically involve planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout of multiple projects in various geographical locations. This key leadership and high-profile role presents an excellent career development opportunity.

The Program Manager (PM), working closely and in concert with the client, will serve in a key role directing day-to-day program management and will be instrumental to the successful development, implementation and delivery of the program. The PM will organize and direct all activities between the technical and administrative aspects of the program including planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, cash flow, QA/QC, risk analysis, document control, coordination of internal AECOM scope of work from other business units, and management information systems. The PM will be required to balance and appropriately address the needs/concerns of all of the stakeholders impacted by this program.

The PM will lead efforts, beginning at the planning phase, to develop a comprehensive program execution plan, implement the client’s vision and coordinate/communicate relevant program status/issues with all affected stakeholders. The PM shall have a strong understanding of the Construction Manager as Agent and Design-Build delivery approach and shall understand contractual limitations and responsibilities under these delivery methods.

Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides management services on behalf of a client’s capital improvement plan; services are typically very broad and often include non-traditional professional services such as coordination with landlord or developers, contractors prequalification process, coordination of owner provided items, and sophisticated external reporting of program costs and schedule progress.

  • Coordinates interaction with government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations

  • Assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client

  • Provides oversight and direction to AECOM staff, client staff and subcontractors

  • Be a visible leader and trusted advisor

  • Be a role model by demonstrating and promoting AECOM’s values both internally and externally

  • Assures soundness of project delivery approaches and provide quality assurance of project work plans, reports, and technical products

  • Collaborates with technical and professional staff across the company in completing assignments

In addition, the PM will lead development and drive implementation of the necessary business processes, plans and procedures required to manage design and construction in a programmatic, process-driven manner. The PM will oversee design and construction management and oversight activities as well as supporting procurement and billing departments.

The PM will also work with the client in the selection of required consultants and will provide management oversight of all Project Managers in the programs related to performance, schedule and cost for both design and construction management based on Key Performance Indicators. This position is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis. This position is contingent upon award of contract.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or other related field

  • 10+ years of relevant vertical construction planning, program and project/construction management experience

  • Located in Denver, CO

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Able to travel domestically and abroad as required by program needs

  • Domestic and International project management experience

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or CCM certification

  • LEED accreditation

  • Food and beverage, or retail space construction experience

  • Strong schedule management experience
