Position Title Senior Traffic Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a creative and highly talented Senior Traffic Engineer for immediate employment in our Grand Rapids, MI or in Southfield, MI offices. AECOM’s network of talented professionals supports public and private transportation clients across the State of Michigan and Great Lakes.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Manage and lead a variety of technical tasks for projects
Preparing Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans
Authoring Maintenance of Traffic Special Provisions and Transportation Management Plans
Developing applicable Traffic Restrictions for Design-Build Procurement efforts
Lead Maintenance of Traffic planning and design for Design-Build pursuits
Oversee completion of Mobility/Capacity Analysis and other traffic engineering studies.
Serve as an AECOM certified project manager, upon obtaining AECOM certification
Develop plans, specifications and estimates
Write technical reports and make technical presentations
Oversee the work of junior engineers who will be working with you on the above-bulleted types of technical tasks
Actively engage in building client relationships in pursuing and winning projects in the area of traffic engineering
Projects may involve:
Traffic engineering design for Interstate/Urban/Rural highways and other transportation facilities
Microstation, AutoCAD and GIS modeling
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
5+ years of related experience
Professional Engineering License
Prior traffic design experience with a Department of Transportation, Tolling Agencies, Local Agencies, or similar
Advancement opportunities are available to those candidates who show initiative and firm understanding of design concepts and leadership skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
- 8+ years of related experience
