Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Leader in their Global Business Services (GBS) unit for immediate employment in the Glen Allen, VA office. This role reports to the Vice President of GBS. The primary responsibility of this position is to drive Improvements in GBS processes, systems, organization and culture and includes managing large projects. The perfect candidate has a proven track record leading multifunction GBS/Shared Services organizations for other large companies.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead Continuous Business Group including Lean Six Sigma initiative

  • Manage contracts for GBS third parties/vendors including but not limited to approving scope and scope changes, monitoring contract and SLA compliance, act as single point of contact for each vendor with the various GBS functions and monitor and measure vendor performance against stated goals

  • Plan, direct, and execute all project activities; ensure project goals and objectives are established and have been met within the set time frame and funding parameters

  • Establish detailed work plans which identify the activities needed to successfully complete each phase of a project; execute the project according to the project plan

  • Create status reports and present materials to senior management for review/approval including decisions made and issues encountered – this should occur throughout the project timeline (Initiation-Analysis-Design-Build-Test-Go-Live)

  • Identify and solve potential problems and evaluate project/program effectiveness

  • Establish communication schedules and updates to GBS stakeholders on various project tasks including project risks, financial updates, and training and communication plans

  • Manage relationships with internal business groups responsible for strategies, process consolidations, process improvements, system developments/implementations, and value added initiatives (i.e. Operations, Procurement, IT)

  • Participate as a member of the GBS leadership team to establish strategy and roadmap for the GBS organization

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10 years’ relevant work experience in GBS or Shared Services environment. Multifunction preferred

  • Ability to manage senior level team

  • Some travel required

  • Strong technical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Communicate Effectively with all levels including senior executives - Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to foster teamwork - Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions; ability to actively engage stakeholders, clients and staff to ensure processes are executed consistently

  • Possess strong analytical and decision making skills – Ability to assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risk of issue presented; make recommendations and/or resolve the issue

  • Excellent organization and planning skills - Set priorities, create project plans, and monitor progress towards goals/activities

  • Ability to determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years Leading Shared Services/GBS Environment

  • Six Sigma Black Belt

  • Six Sigma Certification

  • Project Management Certification

  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP system
