About the Business Line

Water

We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Software Developer for employment in the Germantown, MD office.

The successful candidate will support the Technology Solutions Department in planning, implementing and maintaining customer-specific software development projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with senior technology solutions team members to assist with the development of a wide variety of software solutions (web, desktop and/or mobile).

  • Collaborate with team to develop best solution for given requirements, budget and time constraints.

  • Develop software solutions on time and within budget;

  • Provide technical support to work on all application tiers

  • Provide technical troubleshooting expertise for previously developed software;

  • Research and recommend new technologies that could benefit the team

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Ability to translate and develop final application prototypes into production-ready code

  • Knowledge and/or experience is C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks

  • Knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle and open source tool sets

  • Ability to work in a team environment. Collaborate with other developers, testers, managers and clients (internal and external)

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Position requires attention to detail and the ability to quality check all deliverables for internal and external clients

  • Successful candidate must be a team player, committed to meeting team and client schedules, and able to work productively on several high profile projects at once

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PHP and knowledge of open source data analysis and content management tools

  • Familiarity with SharePoint development and implementation

  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends and emerging technologies.

  • Familiarity with iOS and/or Android application development
