About the Business Line

AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team located in our corporate office located in Germantown, Maryland. This individual will provide day to day support in employee related activities to include employee relations and light recruiting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the investigation of employee complaints and disputes: documents findings and recommends disciplinary action and/or appropriate resolution; implements resolution as approved by senior level personnel.

  • Provide guidance, support, and counsel to employees on defined employee relations issues, and escalate resolution to senior level personnel as appropriate.

  • Onboard, conduct new hire orientations and prepare all associated paperwork for processing.

  • Out-process employees and prepare termination paperwork for processing.

  • Light recruiting duties within the guidelines of company policy and government regulations such as EEOC compliance and Affirmative Action Plans.

  • Update employee files to document personnel actions and provide information for payroll and other departments as necessary.

  • Collaborate and provide support and or guidance to other field and Corporate Human Resource Representatives as needed.

  • Set up office events and meetings as required.

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum three years of related experience

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • General knowledge of performance management, employee practices, compensation, benefits and rewards.

  • Problem Solving/Analysis

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Working knowledge of ADP EV5 and Brass Ring is desirable.
