Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern to work in the Power and Energy group in the Germantown, MD office. AECOM is searching for candidates that are self-starters, tenacious, client focused and impactful. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize basic engineering principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope

  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories

  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses and compare findings to relevant studies

  • Coding in JavaScript focusing on web based GIS tools deployed in the cloud

  • Work under supervision of a project manager and senior-level team members

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Prior experience coding in JavaScript desired with an emphasis on web based GIS tools deployed in the cloud including Node.js environments, web servers using Koop, databases such as MongoDB, GeoJSON objects and JavaScript libraries like Leaflet
