Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Coastal Engineer for employment in the Germantown, MD office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Computer modeling and GIS work related to coastal flooding

  • Review of modeling work by internal and external parties

  • Possible field work to record coastal study data

  • Other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or other related field required; Master's degree in Civil or Coastal engineering preferred

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT); Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Matlab, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

Preferred Qualifications

  • SMS, ADCIRC, SWAN, STWAVE, CMS, Delft3D, MIKE models, or other coastal models​
