AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Business Operations Manager to support our office located in Germantown, Maryland. Direct and administrate business segment financial operations. Develop business financial plans for Sector and/or Strategic Business Units (SBU). Manage and coordinate multiple operations and multiple contract staffs in cost estimating, financial analysis, sales and profit forecasting, indirect budget planning and financial metrics analysis at the business segment level. Direct responsibility for planning, implementing and monitoring cost control methods and processes. Prepare analysis and interpret business segment financial performance to support business segment management planning, cost controls and business segment performance. Develop Sector and/or SBU level corporate briefings and reports.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate multiple operations and multiple contract staffs in providing a broad range of financial services at the Sector and/or SBU level to support strategic business planning initiatives, financial operations and performance monitoring.

  • Supervise the development of performance forecasts for bookings, sales, and contract profit for financial reporting and for performance monitoring.

  • Supervise the development of pool level budgets for the business element for indirect expenses and provide analysis of actual performance. Prepare performance variance analysis.

  • Prepare financial, cost, and budget reports and analysis as required.

  • Interface with SBU and Sector level Directors, Operations Managers, Contract Managers and the SBU financial staff.

  • Participate in business element business and business development planning.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting and at least 10 years of job related experience or equivalent. Experience in contract management, procurement practices, cost accounting, financial management. Knowledge of FAR and DFAR. Good written and oral communications skills. Organizational skills and the ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a Government contracting environment. Hands-on experience with Hyperion and CostPoint.
