Job Summary

The Infrastructure and Environment Division of AECOM is actively seeking a experienced, highly talented Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector for on-going projects at Fort Pickett located in Blackstone, VA. This position is well suited for a smart, self starter with electrical inspection skills.As a lead member of the construction management team, the incumbent serves as an owner’s representative on behalf of General Services Administration (GSA) and the end-user Federal Agency.

This position will support the Project Management Staff with electrical quality assurance and project management duties including:

  • Review and interpret construction documents, submittals, RFI’s, change orders and reports as required to conduct electrical quality assurance inspections

  • Be knowledgeable of applicable building and electrical codes applicable to the work and inspect the contractor’s work for compliance

  • Inspect the contractor’s work for compliance to all contract requirements

  • Assist in the management of third party testing agencies

  • Establish, implement and manage quality assurance procedures

  • Assist in processing RFI’s, submittals and change orders

  • Coordinate the work of the contractor

  • Interact professionally with the CM firm, GSA, tenants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, salesmen and others connected with the project

  • Handle multiple priorities with attention to detail and be able to work independently

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma

  • 10+ years of experience in related field

  • Experience in electrical quality assurance inspection for large construction projects

  • Experience and knowledge of commercial building codes, electrical building codes and requirements

  • Experience in commercial electrical construction techniques and process

  • Experience in construction inspection, submittal reviews, RFI reviews, change order consultation and construction document reviews Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of the English language is required

  • Experience in the use of various software including Microsoft Office products and other PM Software

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work in a field office on the jobsite

  • Ability to acquire federal security clearance

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering or electrical construction background

  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical building codes

  • Experience on construction projects with values greater than $25 million

  • Experience on federal or DOD projects

  • Proficient in the use of computers and construction related software
