About the Business Line
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II (Electrician) for a position in Ft. Campbell, KY.
Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Perform installation of electrical system upgrades including such systems as flight, navigation, instrumentation, etc. Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services. Perform scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft electrical and navigation systems using special tools and test equipment as required. Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.
High school graduate or equivalent is desirable Military Experience is a plus.
5 years Aviation experience required.
Complete tool box inventory sheets and be shadowed prior to arrival at site.
Must be able travel to customer supported sites for work (75% travel).
Ability to select and use proper PPE.
Must provide personal tools per minimum tool listing.
Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component and electrical troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.
Must have basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, volt-ohm meters, crimp dies, test sets.
Must be able to identify correct tooling for crimping pins/contacts and terminating connectors.
Must be able to read/comprehend wiring schematics used in installing MWO’s and/or troubleshooting system errors.
Must be able to read/MWO’s and install/integrate new electrical systems onto Army Aircraft.
Must have a working knowledge of technical publications and the Army's Aviation Logistics Information System, ULLS-AE.
Must be able to prioritize workloads and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
