Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Mechanic Helper (Paint Shop) position in Ft. Campbell, KY. Performs apprentice Painter tasking’s under the direct supervision of the Senior Section Supervisor or certified painter on common painter related tasking’s. Washes/cleans contract units and performs other non-complex duties as directed. Learns safe work practices on various contract units and components. Assists aircraft or vehicle mechanic in servicing, repairing, and overhauling aircraft and aircraft engines and vehicles. Adjusts and replaces parts such as control cables; fuel tanks/cells; ignition components; tires; batteries and filters using common hand tools. Removes inspection plates and panels; cowling, engine covers, floorboards; and related items to provide access for inspection and repair, and replace items when work is completed. Disconnects instruments, ignition systems, fuel and oil lines. Assists in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing and hydraulic/pneudraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections. Performs routine duties such as furnishing materials; tools and supplies to aircraft or vehicle mechanic; lifting and holding materials in place during maintenance operation; and cleaning work areas, machines, tools and equipment. Cleans aircraft and vehicle interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions. Inflates tires, fills fuel tanks/cells and oil reservoirs, and lubricate aircraft or vehicles using grease gun. May assist flight line mechanic in servicing and repairing aircraft prior to flight. Receives on-the-job training for upgrading to perform other duties as directed by the Supervisors. May assist in the removal of exterior coating and prepare the surface for paint.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is desirable.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.

  • Must be able to obtain a NAC:I and a CAC for network computer access.
