About the Business Line
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
Working under the direction of a Team Lead the Inventory Control Specialist will be accountable for: Receiving materials, equipment, and supplies (“items”) from various shipping modes, verifying quantities received, and noting discrepancies.
Unloading items, examining for damage, and moving to storage or onward shipping area, utilizing various materials handling equipment.
Selecting specific storage locations within the framework of general warehousing plan.
Storing, stacking, and palletizing items considering use, size, shape, weight, quantity, spoilage, pilferage, contamination and safety of others.
Packing, crating, and otherwise preparing items for shipment using a variety of materials and equipment.
Staging items for onward shipment, working closely with Customer representatives.
Maintaining inventory balances of bench stock and inventory material.
Palletizing, netting, and weighing items in preparation for shipping.
Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Cleaning warehouse space.
Unloading/loading of sea and land containers.
Assisting with movement and shipment of hazardous material, under direct supervision of certified Customer representatives.
Gathering, inputting, and updating information in Customer material management software system.
Examining stock for damage and reporting findings.
Conducting inventory of stock materials
Assuring items are properly marked, tagged and labeled.
Following accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques and various written or oral instructions.
Demonstrating competence in the shipping and receiving and having working knowledge of other required logistics functions.
This is a sourcing requisition for future hiring needs.
Must be able to lift and carry 70 lbs.
Be able to work in a team environment and independently.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be capable of interacting with all levels of government personnel.
Must be willing to commit to 18 months of an unaccompanied overseas assignment.
Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph at a minimum.
Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.

Must be willing & ready to travel (Approximately 20% required).
Must have a current valid passport.
Pass a job related physical exam.
Experience with Government software systems a plus
Forklift certificate is a plus
CDL license is a plus
US CAC Card is a plus
