AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.

Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Part Time Variable Assistant Director of Operations in Support of the Afghanistan Programs located in Fort Worth Texas. Directs and provides departmental oversight and responsibilities for the Operations Support Cell. Directs and provides departmental oversight and responsibilities for the Operations Support Cell. Provides planning and execution directives for a diverse set of activities of a large contract(s) involving logistics for DOD clients. Supervises the preparation of operational reports to the DoD client and AECOM corporate management on matters pertaining to operations, logistics, significant actions, customer relations and risk matters. Actively participates in the weekly calls with contract sites. Assists in the management of future plans and operations including task organizing and structuring the operation to meet DoD client’s mission requirements and corporate requirements. Responsible for establishing and maintaining departmental files IAW governing regulations. Assists with the development of PowerPoint presentations for DoD client and AC FIRST meetings. Processes and distributes confidential and sensitive documents. Maintains personnel accountability for assigned personnel. Orientation and train subordinate staff members. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Required: Ten to Twelve years of experience in Operations of increasingly complex fields.

  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance prior to start date.

  • Prior US Military preferred.

  • Must have strong knowledge of maintenance, supply, transportation, and office related policies and procedures.

  • General knowledge of job related software.

  • Knowledge of basic office practices.

  • Excellent communications skills required, both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge of personal computer use, specifically – Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 50 wpm.
