Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Rig Welder to be based in our Fort St. John, British Columbia location.

This position will join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Weld pipe for steel pipelines and/or steel pressure piping for facilities

  • Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders.

  • Clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.

A rotational travel allowance may be available for this position.

This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.

Minimum Requirements

  • All Journeymen must have British Columbia and/or Red Seal Trade certificate.

  • BC B Pressure ticket or equivalent if from another province.

  • A valid Class 1 or Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract are requirements of this position

  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification or PST (Petroleum Safety Training) required

  • H2S Alive Certification required.

  • AWP - Aerial Work Platform Certification required.

  • First Aid - Standard Level Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) - All position Stick ticket.

  • Fall Protection certification.

  • O&G Facility Construction/Fabrication certification.
