Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dispatcher, Motor Vehicle at our Fort Polk site location.

  1. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Motor Vehicle Dispatcher includes:

  2. The assignment of motor vehicles and drivers for conveyance passengers, and compiles lists of available vehicles.

  3. The assignment of vehicles is determined by factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight, or passenger requirements, and preference of user.

  4. The issuance of keys, record sheets, and driver credentials.

  5. The Dispatcher records time of departure, destination, cargo, passengers, expected time of return and investigates overdue vehicles.

  6. The Dispatcher may confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise, maintain record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.

  7. The Dispatcher may modify daily route schedules to meet the requirements of missions.

  8. The Dispatcher may direct activities of drivers, assign helpers to drivers, and assign vehicles per request.

  9. The dispatcher is responsible for the distribution of vehicles to customers and the movement of equipment to vendors for repairs and maintenance.

  10. The Dispatcher shall be required to contact personnel for assignments and/or required information per the TMP Supervisor.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 40-45 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

Other Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Must have a minimum of 2 Years related service experience.

Must have a Valid Driver License.

Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record required

Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI and CAC Card eligibility.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment and a government background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, may deal directly with customers and LRC.

  • Professional phone etiquette.

  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Schedule flexibility for a 24/7 operation.

  • Good customer service skills.

  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.

  • Familiar with DOT regulation.
